April 2026
Welcome to April’s Monthly Wrap Up!
How did my month of reading go? Did I meet the goals I set for myself? Was I able to get through the entirety of my TBR from last month? What is on my TBR now? What am I currently reading? All of those questions will be answered here.
Despite having a full week off of work I didn’t quite make my reading goals for the month, but I did finally finish a book I’d been reading off and on since October of 2025. I did end up reading a lot more books this month than I had previous months, which is good. But I am no where near being caught up to my yearly goal. I do have a bunch of volumes of manga on my TBR pile so those will hopefully help me catch up before the end of the year.
That being said, let’s go through my statistics for April, like what reviews I posted, what I’m currently reading, what i’m planning to read in April, and where I am in my yearly reading goal.
April Blog Wrap-up
This month I posted a total of 4 book reviews which include (from latest to most recent):
1. The Stardust Thief by Chelsea Abdullah
2. Onyx Storm by Rebecca Yarros
3. The Fatal Confidant by Debra Webb
4. The Ruins Beneath Us by Sasha E. Sloan

My TBR Lineup
There are a lot of books on my TBR pile, both phsyical and digital. The following are what I plan to read in May, many of these I had intended to read in April but didn’t quite get through books I already had on the go quick enough. Hopefully this month I’ll get through them and perhaps a few more. Three of these are ARC requests that I still need to make a review for. I’m not reading as fast as I usually do lately.
The Ten year Lie by Debra Webb (ebook- NetGalley)
We Would Never Tell by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau (Ebook- Netgalley)
Who Knew the Ridpath Girl by Stacey Johns (Ebook- Netgalley)
Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke (Ebook – Netgalley)
One Piece Volumes 7-10+ (ebook)
A Heart so Fierce and Broken (Audiobook)
(The covers below link to their Goodreads page.)

Yearly Tracking
So far this year I have read 27 books out of 200 which puts me at about 38 books behind to meet that goal. It seems I keep getting further and further away from my yearly goal. Hopefully I can get through more books in May to catch up.
Other Media
Since I had a week off of work this month I used that time to catch up on the most recent seasons of the following TV Shows up to their most recent episodes mid April.
Television
1) FBI
2) Family Law
3) Brilliant Minds
4) Tracker
5) NCIS
6) NCIS: Origins
7) High Potential
8) NCIS: Sydney
9) Matlock
10) Elsbeth
11) Survivor S50 E1-4
Movies
1) Rebecca – A young newlywed arrives at her husband’s imposing family estate on a windswept English coast and finds herself battling the shadow of his first wife, Rebecca, whose legacy lives on in the house long after her death.
2) Tuck Everlasting – A young woman meets and falls in love with a young man who is part of a family of immortals.
This months movies were re-watches for me and both are based on novels of the same title. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit is one of my favourite books with so many of my favourite quotes that are full of Wisdom. I have yet to read the book version of Rebecca, I do own a copy of the book it will eventually make it to my TBR soon pile, maybe October since it’s a mystery novel.
Anime
1) One Piece (Episodes 125-456)
Continuing from last month rewatching the anime for One Piece after watching the first two seasons of the Live Action. These episodes covered the Alabasta Arc, Skypeia, Water 7, Thriller Bark, and most of the Summit War Arc. I did skip some of the filler episodes so that I could get back to the main story, that appears in the manga.
Music
Em Beihold was on repeat with her album The Tales of a Failed Shapeshifter continued its top spot on my playlist, as well as Hilary Duff’s Luck…or Something, and Charlie Puth’s Whatever’s Clever. Joining them this month was Vanessa Carlton’s album Veils which released on April 17th, as well as the new song from Evanesence Who Will You Follow a single from their upcoming album Sanctuary which is coming out June 4th, It’s been a long time since we’ve had new music from them so I’m looking forward to the full album release. Super exciting!
