The number of views my posts are getting is increasing which is super encouraging! I’m hoping to break into double digit views in May!

In April I finished reading a total of 10 books, including one I had started last October! I read a total of 2453 pages, and listened for 31.02 hours. Average book length was 291 pages. My primary genre read this month was Fantasy.

I’m working through several books at the moment some physical and some digital. I’m hoping to finish them in April.

Each book cover below links to their Goodreads page

A Curse so Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer (Audiobook) this is a re-read and I am at 64%
The Return of Ellie Black by Emiko Jean (Ebook- Kindle) I am at 38%
One Piece Volume 6 by Eiichiro Oda (Ebook – Viz Manga) I’m at 50%
The Institute By Stephen King (Hardcover) – I’m at 4%

There are a lot of books on my TBR pile, both phsyical and digital. The following are what I plan to read in May, many of these I had intended to read in April but didn’t quite get through books I already had on the go quick enough. Hopefully this month I’ll get through them and perhaps a few more. Three of these are ARC requests that I still need to make a review for. I’m not reading as fast as I usually do lately.

The Ten year Lie by Debra Webb (ebook- NetGalley)
We Would Never Tell by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau (Ebook- Netgalley)
Who Knew the Ridpath Girl by Stacey Johns (Ebook- Netgalley)
Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke (Ebook – Netgalley)
One Piece Volumes 7-10+ (ebook)
A Heart so Fierce and Broken (Audiobook)
(The covers below link to their Goodreads page.)

So far this year I have read 27 books out of 200 which puts me at about 38 books behind to meet that goal. It seems I keep getting further and further away from my yearly goal. Hopefully I can get through more books in May to catch up.

Since I had a week off of work this month I used that time to catch up on the most recent seasons of the following TV Shows up to their most recent episodes mid April.

Movies
1) Rebecca – A young newlywed arrives at her husband’s imposing family estate on a windswept English coast and finds herself battling the shadow of his first wife, Rebecca, whose legacy lives on in the house long after her death.

2) Tuck Everlasting – A young woman meets and falls in love with a young man who is part of a family of immortals.

This months movies were re-watches for me and both are based on novels of the same title. Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbit is one of my favourite books with so many of my favourite quotes that are full of Wisdom. I have yet to read the book version of Rebecca, I do own a copy of the book it will eventually make it to my TBR soon pile, maybe October since it’s a mystery novel.

Anime
1) One Piece (Episodes 125-456)
Continuing from last month rewatching the anime for One Piece after watching the first two seasons of the Live Action. These episodes covered the Alabasta Arc, Skypeia, Water 7, Thriller Bark, and most of the Summit War Arc. I did skip some of the filler episodes so that I could get back to the main story, that appears in the manga.

Music
Em Beihold was on repeat with her album The Tales of a Failed Shapeshifter continued its top spot on my playlist, as well as Hilary Duff’s Luck…or Something, and Charlie Puth’s Whatever’s Clever. Joining them this month was Vanessa Carlton’s album Veils which released on April 17th, as well as the new song from Evanesence Who Will You Follow a single from their upcoming album Sanctuary which is coming out June 4th, It’s been a long time since we’ve had new music from them so I’m looking forward to the full album release. Super exciting!

Okay now back to why we’re all here, reading!
