This weeks topic: Book Series I Want to Catch Up On (or series you’d like to start)
So this was an interesting topic for me. I often read books that are a part of a series and oftentimes when I put off reading them until I either have more or all of the series. We’ve become a world of binge watching, or binge reading, and instant gratification that I would convince myself not to start a series because I don’t have all the books in it yet. I don’t want to get emotionally invested in a series and not be able to find out what happens next. It’s such a stupid notion because I used to do it all the time. Series that I grew up reading, The Hunger Games, The Mortal Instruments, Divergent, Harry Potter, all of these I had to wait for the next book to be published after reading the previous. I’m getting better about it, or at least working toward being better at it.
Below is my list of Book series I’d like to either catch up on or start, in no particular order.
Title: Marked

I started reading this series when I was in my late teens/early twenties. I really enjoyed the series, but I never finished reading it. It’s one I’ve been meaning to pick up again for a really long time, even now that I’m well past the intended age group for the series.

I first learned of this book series, through the TV show that was made based on the books. I started reading the first book several years ago, borrowing through my library, but never actually finished reading. I’ve also not finished watching the TV show either. I’ve sinced acquired ebook versions of the books, when they had gone on sale. So this is definitely a series I want to pick up again sometime in the near future.

I learned about this series, through happenstance. I work in retail and the store I was working in was closing soon. I was near our store’s gate (we are in a mall) to close it up after the last customer left the store. One of the customers had this edition of the book in her hand and I had asked her what book it was. The cover looked awesome, and the sprayed edges were cool. As soon as I got home I added it to my Want to read list on Goodreads so I wouldn’t forget about it. The premise of the book sounds pretty good. I will likely be picking up a copy later this year during my birthday book haul.

I have been following Elisabeth Wheatley on social media for I think around two years now. I stumbled upon her in my facebook reels while doomscrolling with one of her Book Goblin skits. It was incredibly entertaining. I’ve since acquired the first book in the series as well as her Daindreth’s Assassin series, but I haven’t read any of them yet. I’m hoping to have read at least one of her books by the end of the year.

I have had the first book in this series on my TBR for well over a year, and I have the second book in Hardcover form, that I picked up earlier this year, waiting for me to read the first book.

I read the first book of this series a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I do have the ebook for the second book in this series but I still haven’t gotten around to reading it.

I’ve seen this book series mentioned everywhere and the synopsis makes it sound like something right up my alley. I will get to this one eventually.

I think the cover of this one drew me in first. I had seen many people talk about this one as well. I’m looking forward to starting this series because it sounds really interesting and different from a lot of other fantasy romance’s I’ve read.

I’ve mentioned this book/series a few times this year. I came across this series from a reel on facebook that had mentioned the second book in this series, which at the time I hadn’t realized it was the second book. The edition they were talking about looked really pretty and I ended up ordering it soon after. Of course when it arrived I realized it was the second book in the series and immediatly ordered the first book in the series. I’m hoping to read it before the end of the year.

This series has been on my TBR for awhile now. I purchased the ebooks during sales over the last couple of years and just haven’t gotten around to reading them yet.
